=RUETS SIRUM=

Whats up Sirm,  I was killing myself tryin to do some realy wild letters. But never really got anything I was happy with.  The letter combo is a tough one. But i had fun messin with some more simple styles. Hope you like them.

Askew Outline by Stae

Here is an Askew joint I painted on the weekend...
Was alot of fun to paint, and I definetly would like to paint another 1 or 2 in the near future.
I tried to be a little loose with the interpetation, and overall Im ok with the result, but I feel I could of came harder with the background to blast the sort of mono-chromatic piece...
...to be continued!

=RUETS HONKE= Fucks Ya....

Yo Honk,
I had alot of fun with this one. Ive never done a backwards style before. It was mad hot out (as im typing this were having an earthquake! haha, thats LA for you) Anywayzzz. i threw acouple drop shadows on there but other than that i think i stayed true to the sketch. Hope you like!

Ensoe sketch by Sirum

Hey Ensoe , I looked into your works and straight away noticed your flowing letter repetition within your style.. Like your letters are rolling along! I wanted to use this formula in my sketch for you so in some way it has a similar feel to what you already know.
To be honest , I struggled a little with the S to the O due to the fact I love to kick the letter S out to help portray its character. Because of this, either the O would sit too far away from the beginning of the word, OR would be hidden behind the S...
20 variations later I figured I could merge the two letters together, but I had to be clever about this so neither of the letters suffered or became lost. In the end I now think the S to the O
is my favourite part of the sketch and your word is also beautiful to compliment with connections and arrows!

Sorry I couldn't get this to you before the weekend.. But I really wanted to give it my all bro...
I hope you like!

TABOO paints Askew's sketch

So Saturday morning I woke up all prepared to paint the 1st out line that Askew submitted for me to paint. I intended to paint it on a box truck that makes fruit deliveries throughout Brooklyn. But as I looked out the widow I saw the storm clouds on the horizon, I didn’t think I was going to paint at all. It drizzled on and off all morning, so I eventually got fed up waiting for good weather, and decided to paint a tunnel. I chose to paint the 2nd outline as my plans to paint the truck didn’t work out.

I didn’t intend to paint this outline so I didn’t really study it like I did the 1st one. After sketching the T – A, I started to get nervous that I would get lost as the shapes were so unfamiliar to me. I kept referencing the printed out sketch, even as I filled in to double check myself. Once I had the piece filled in and started to cut out the letters, it all came together. I genuinely had a good experience painting this loose style.

For the most part I stayed true to Askew’s letter forms and modified a few of the throw offs. I stretched out the 2nd O and added a throw off to match the stretched out look of the T. My favorite part of the piece is the right leg of the A kicking the B in the ass... really clever.

Over all it was a great experience. Once again I’m really glad to be apart of this project. Sorry for the crappy photo, that’s actually a silver fill with white highlights. The glare from the opening of the tunnel makes the silver look white.

POSE sketches by ASKEW

Yo! Here's a page of Pose sketches.. must be the weekend for rocking the 'P' names, but man, how different is Pose to Poet to draw, even with 3 of the same letters!!! Hope you like these guys and I'm certain you will reinterpret them in a masterful and highly technical way!!!
