Group Collaboration In LA

Here is a recent wall I painted in Los Angeles with Ewok & Pose. For this wall we decided to take The Exchange project in a slightly different direction. We showed up to the wall all late and with no sketches, our plan was to bounce around and contribute a bit to each piece on the wall.

We decided that each of us will sketch two letters of each others name. What I mean is:

For EWOK - I painted the initial sketch of th E & W, then POSE sketched his O & K

For POSE - EWOK sketched the P & O. Afterward, I stepped in fucking around with my left hand (bad hand), setting out to do the goofiest sketch possible.

It ended up looking really cool in my opinion, but wasn't right for the wall. So I buffed it our and resketched the S & E

For RIME - POSe sketched the R & I, followed by EWOK's rough sketch of the M & E

Overall this was an interesting experience. It's been a while since I tried painting a capital "I". If you look clos you can see how each of us changed what we were given and in that process, made it our own... Word-

POSE SKETCH'S BY ENSOE

Here's a couple for chi-town's finest pose.. Ahuge inspiration to me since the day I picked up a can over a decade ago. So this is a real honour.. The first one is a simpler older sketch I did, and the second one is some new skool funk I think you'd have fun with... Kill it homie!!!

POSE PAINTS SIRUM SKETCH

Yo Sirum!
I was out of commission for a while but finally got to take a crack at your sketch.  I love the flow and shape it was a blast to paint.  I was having trouble getting the "e" to bang the right way (might have had to do with the burnt out car remnants, mattresses and bags of ?) so I put it in the microwave and cooked it for a while, and bugged out a little.  I definitely think i might give it a second go, its a killer sketch man thanks again,  I gotta return the favor soon!
Cheers

ROIDS SKETCH BY POSE

So heres another quick whirl at your name, this time a little more tech/ fast looking.  I still tried to leave some large areas open for you to have fun with treatment wise aka drop the tender videls on em.  There is plenty of stuff I would change if I was painting this one... stretching the "d" out and down more to flow better (or maybe change its shape to more of a pyramid) , making the whip outs really whippy and blown out, ect.
Have fun, hope you get to paint this one and definitely hit me back with a sketch when you can.
Il might spend a little more time and draw up another tech one as well.

POSE / ASKEW Part 1: "RAIN FAME"

As Pose said, we tried to paint in the woods, in the rain (it sucked). I originally tried to paint a piece based off of two Aroe sketches...

But because of a drain pipe running water down the center of my piece, I had to abort.

Pose kept going through the rain...

The drenched sketch...

In the process of getting a better shot, but for now...

POSE PAINTING ASKEW SKETCH

So this was actually my 2nd attempt at this sketch.  The first one I painted with Rime in Jersey, and although it was on a hobbit trail cursed with torrential downpours, poison ivy and lost cameras, It was a blast to paint.  I tried your fat cap Ironlak method with mainly white and black, in attempt to keep it quick, simple and funky.
Since the sketch was so much fun to paint, I had no pics of the Jersey one, and it was pretty much rained out anyways (Rain Fame) I figured Id give it another shot in the Chi.  I really enjoyed the flow of your letters, and working with fats, trying for no cut backs, ect. Shit was a blast, thanks man, If I do another one Il probably try to scale down size-wise, and experiment more with a funkier flat treatment.  I think my massive hubris, and overcompensation for space made me stretch this one out to much, and I probably nailed the actual sketch better the first time.
Anyways hope you enjoy.
If I ever get a flick of the first one, Il post if for sure.

POSE sketches by ASKEW

Yo! Here's a page of Pose sketches.. must be the weekend for rocking the 'P' names, but man, how different is Pose to Poet to draw, even with 3 of the same letters!!! Hope you like these guys and I'm certain you will reinterpret them in a masterful and highly technical way!!!

ROID Sketches By POSE

Roid rage!
I started drawing a really mean, hard edged, swoopy, judo-chop sketch for you and wasn't having any fun, so I figured Id take the opportunity to get a little weird.  Never mind the dirty sketching I think the horror-ish one could look interesting with your style of treatment and interpretation.
I want to spend more time and do at least one more thats more intensely graphic/comic inspired, or at least more tricked out.
Cheers
