Host18 paints Askew sketch
Askew's sketch proved to be a bit more challenging than I thought, particularly the H and O. The H has an form that is odd to me and it took me a couple of times to get the sketch down. I attempted to keep the sketch as true to Askew's as possible while adding a couple of my own small details and changes. I wish I could have buffed out the background completely above the piece but I was ladderless, oh well! I had a good time over all painting this joint and can't wait for the next!

ReplyDeletegood color combo... yo u did a good job on this. i can see the hostism on this piece
ReplyDelete^ yeah agreed.. I realise how ugly my style is at the moment haha.. Like that is probably what makes it hardd for other people to paint because of the weird hollow bits etc, they can throw the funk right off.. I think you did really good dude and it made me reassess my own stuff a little too..
ReplyDeletewow! came out reaaally good!!!!
ReplyDeletegood work man!!!
Askew, I actually really dug the sketch. The forms that you draw are just odd for me as they are very different than how I go about drawing my stuff.
ReplyDeletepulled off perfect!!! great colours too......worrrd.
ReplyDeleteDamn! you made it nice with the cans!
ReplyDeleteThe dark center and the purples in the 3D are really going for it. I like how you did that.

very nice Host , never mind the background..
ReplyDeleteThe gritty look helps push the style off the wall!
Painting askews style will always prove a challenge due to the spontaneous movement he creates with his linework...
